Keiko Furoshiki x Apothékary: A Collaboration Rooted in Ritual and Renewal
We’re thrilled to announce our second collaboration with Apothékary, the trailblazing wellness brand known for its plant-based remedies and beautiful approach to holistic healing. This collaboration celebrates shared values of intentional living, sustainability, and care—core principles that guide both Apothékary and Keiko Furoshiki.
Founded by Shizu Okusa, Apothékary was created to bridge traditional herbal medicine with modern wellness. Shizu’s background in finance and her personal healing journey inspired her to build a brand that empowers people to take their health into their own hands—naturally. Each Apothékary blend is crafted from high-quality herbs, roots, and superfoods sourced from around the world, designed to help restore balance, calm, and vitality without the use of synthetic ingredients. Their motto, “Nature is medicine,” perfectly captures the brand’s mission: to help people feel good, from the inside out, through the power of nature.

Much like Apothékary’s belief that wellness begins with mindful rituals, Keiko Furoshiki believes that everyday actions—like gift wrapping, carrying, or adorning with a furoshiki—can be opportunities to slow down, express care, and connect with the present moment. Both brands share a reverence for quality materials, cultural heritage, and a desire to create beauty with purpose.

The furoshiki for this collab are 50cm x 50cm single-sided recycled polyester twill.
For this collaboration, Keiko Kira, co-founder and print designer of Keiko Furoshiki, designed a custom furoshiki print exclusively for Apothékary’s Now and Zen set—a curated wellness ritual for grounding and rejuvenation. The set includes calming adaptogenic blends and now, a furoshiki wrap that turns each moment of self-care into a visual and tactile experience of beauty.

Keiko’s design draws inspiration from the red plum blossom (ume), one of Japan’s most beloved symbols. In her own words:
“This design was inspired by my love for nature and its connection to our well-being. I chose the red plum, or ume, a symbol of strength, perseverance, and renewal in Japanese culture. Blooming at the end of winter, it reminds us of resilience and hope. Through this design and its color palette, I wanted to express inner strength and new beginnings. The ritual of wrapping with furoshiki has been part of Japanese life for over 1,200 years. While it’s often seen as a way to show respect and care, to me, it is also a thoughtful way to protect something very dear to your heart.”
The result is a furoshiki that embodies both brands’ philosophies—mindful beauty, meaningful rituals, and a deep respect for the power of nature. The soft hues and flowing lines of the red plum design invite calm reflection, making it the perfect complement to Apothékary’s Now and Zen set.
This collaboration is more than a meeting of design and wellness—it’s an invitation to pause, nurture yourself, and reconnect with what matters most. Whether you’re sipping an herbal tonic or wrapping a treasured item, each moment becomes a small act of care.
