We are thrilled to announce that Keiko Furoshiki will not only be attending this year’s Greater Kansas City Japan Festival, but Keiko Kira herself will be giving two special lectures on the art of furoshiki! The lectures will include live demonstration and hands-on teaching, offering attendees a unique opportunity to learn the traditional Japanese practice of fabric wrapping. These lectures will be at 12:00 p.m and 3:00 p.m. in room GEB 281.
Whether you're new to furoshiki or a seasoned fan, this is the perfect chance to master various techniques and explore the sustainable, creative ways to use these beautiful wraps in everyday life.
About the Greater Kansas City Japan Festival
Held annually at the Johnson County Community College, the Japan Festival brings Japanese culture to the heart of Kansas City. Organized by the Heart of America Japan-America Society (HAJAS), the festival is dedicated to fostering cultural exchange through a wide array of performances, workshops, food, and shopping experiences. We are proud to present Keiko Kira’s furoshiki lectures at this year’s festival.
